Teaching Methods
Professional yet personal guidance, adapted to your Japanese language journey.
Learn Your Way
My Teaching Approach
I focus on pragmatic aspect of xxx that enable(s) Japanese effectively at your own pace.
Every student has unique goals and learning preferences. I adapt each lesson to match your specific needs, ensuring you build genuine understanding and confidence in using Japanese.
Materials
My lessons do not employ published textbooks (such as Minna no nihongo, Marugoto, Genki). Instead, I create my own teaching materials. I do not deny the use of them. However, these textbooks, and auxiliary books have students learning in Japan in mind.
My students, existing and future, are in Switzerland (unless online), not surrounded by Japanese speakers nor in the habit of seeing Japanese writings in their everyday life. Teaching materials must be adapted to students’ study environment.

Writing and Reading
Every book, website, courses offering Japanese study start with Hiragana (ひらがな). Japanese kids start with Hiragana, too, at home and at school. This is a natural way to kick start, or so it seems. My lessons start with Katakana (カタカナ).
If students are learning in Japan, Hiragana is the first and foremost. What about those who live and study in Switzerland or, say, in Europe? It is far better and practical to learn Katakana, first, so that they (you) will be able to write their (your) name, name of family members and friends, countries, places, food; things around your everyday life.
Phonetics, Accent, Pronunciation
The Japanese language is unique in many ways.
